Cheech Marin has led a more interesting life than most. He’s gone from one half of the comedy duo Cheech and Chong – starring in the granddaddy of stoner movies, “Up in Smoke” – to a leading Latino voice and owner of one of the finest private collections of Chicano art in the nation.
His nickname, Cheech, was given to him as a baby when his uncle remarked that he looked like a chicharron. Little did his uncle know just how recognizable that name would become in popular culture.
Cheech may have actually done it all: from comedic performing to acting to directing to writing books for children to continually bringing issues of Latino identity to the forefront with a sense of humor. We could go on and on, but you’ll have to join us at this hilarious event to learn more about where the road of life has taken Cheech Marin.
Trust us, this light-hearted, warm and funny man will have you “rolling in the aisles” in a way only Cheech Marin can.
