Supporting the People’s Climate Movement in D.C. on April 29 there will be a resistance and renewal convergence at Lake Merritt in Oakland. This is a chance for all of us in the Bay Area to come together, hit the streets and raise our voices for action on the climate crisis.
The Trump administration has already started dismantling key climate wins from recent years, so we need to stand up and protect our right to clean air, water, land, healthy communities, sustainable living wage jobs and a world at peace. We invite you to join the People’s Climate Movement-Bay Area on Saturday, April 29th, the 100th Day of the Trump Administration. The event will include speakers, performers (musical and spoken word), a children’s activity area, hands-on activity booths, literature tables and a chance to build signs and banners for May Day. It will conclude with a processional around the lake.
This is one of hundreds of similar events taking place nationwide to support and show solidarity with the People’s Climate March in Washington D.C. It will be followed locally by the Environmental Justice Contingent in the Oakland May Day rally and march, starting at Fruitvale BART Plaza at 3 p.m. on May 1.
