Todays Local Music: Jay Trainer

Jay Trainer

Today we're featuring power-rocker Jay Trainer of San Francisco. He says he tries to “bring back a sense of honesty to rock ‘n’ roll” in his recordings -- but he’s better known for his uninhibited, free-form live shows.

You can experience this yourself on Friday March 15, when Trainer joins the band Felsen, and others, at the Brick & Mortar Music Hall in San Francisco. Music begins at 8pm.

Today's Local Music: Evolution

The band Journey has a special place in the hearts of Bay Area music fans. They’re on tour this month … in Australia. If that’s a bit far, you can hear the band Evolution instead. Evolution has been voted “top tribute band in California” twice, and has the approval of the original band members. This is not a dress-up act; they’re devoted to accurately recreating the music of Journey. They’re performing Saturday, March 16th at George’s Night Club in San Rafael, starting about 9:30pm. Don’t stop believin’!
