City Visions: Plan to reconfigure downtown transportation sparks controversy

Jessica Olthof, The Chronicle

March 14, 2016:   Host Joseph Pace dives into proposals to eliminate both the 4th and Mission rail yard and the end of I-280.

Will turning the end of I-280 into a boulevard improve traffic flow and enhance the neighborhood?  If Caltrain moves to the new Transbay Transit Center, how should the old rail yard be developed?  And how would these major infrastructure changes be funded?

Producer:  Wendy Holcombe

Guests:

Gil Kelley, Director of Citywide Planning in San Francisco.

Ed Reiskin, Director of Transportation for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.

Jerry Cauthen, Co-founder of Save Muni and the Bay Area Working Group.
