Dems sweat California housing-legislation deadline

After failing to make a deal last year, state legislators and Governor Jerry Brown vowed to take action to address California's housing crisis. They just might get it done this week.

But first they have to agree on a deal involving three key bills: two new funds for affordable housing, and a plan to fast-track housing development. KALW's housing reporter Liza Veale has details.

The really controversial piece would streamline the approval process for building new apartments and condominiums.
