East Oakland comedian Stroy Moyd on making people laugh, no matter the circumstance

Bay Area comedian Stroy Moyd was born in East Oakland, moved to Berkeley as a teen, and now performs all over the Bay, and beyond. The twenty-something has been doing stand-up since he was 16, inspired by his dad's sense of humor and way with words.

Moyd spoke with KALW’s Jen Chien about jokes, skateboarding, and performing comedy for the first time at his grandmother's funeral.

MOYD: It got to the point where people that were outside of the funeral home would look inside the big window and they would see people laughing and they would actually come into the funeral home to see me.

You can see Stroy Moyd perform this Friday and Saturday at the Comedians with Criminal Records showcase in San Francisco.
