A study by the city of Oakland recently found that only 25% of adults in the Town eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Among African Americans, the number is even lower. Oakland-native Jessica Jones wants to create more access to healthy lifestyles within her community. She especially wants women of color to feel good about their bodies and the food they eat. She and her friend, Wendy Lopez, who's also a registered dietician, have a popular blog calledFood Heaven Made Easy.
