RAWdance's ‘Double Exposure’ ~ SFCO’s ‘Strings Attached ~ Klimt & Rodin: An Artistic Encounter

Margo Moritz
Ryan Smith and Wendy Rein in RAWdance's 'Double Exposure'...

This week on Open Air, host David Latulippe talks with RAWdance's Wendy Rein and Ryan T. Smith about ‘Double Exposure’, the company’s critically acclaimed program of duets by more than a dozen West Coast choreographers.

Double Exposure’ consists of a series of short choreographies, written specifically for RAWdance's two directors/dancers/choreographers, who added one of their own for good measure. Drawing from a broad range of styles, including ballet, butoh and dance theater, ‘Double Exposure’ runs this weekend (Oct. 26 - 28, Thursday to Saturday) at ODC, 3153 17th Street, San Francisco at 8 p.m.

From the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, we talk with SFCO’s newly-appointed Executive Director Renay Conlin, about the ensemble’s first Main Stage concerts, this weekend in San Francisco, Palo Alto and Berkeley. Conductor Ben Simon and the SFCO will be joining in via phone. The (as always) free concerts are titled ‘Strings Attached’ and feature the orchestra’s string section in music by Schubert, Bach and Bartók.

Plus, Open Air’s regular contributor and critic at large, Peter Robinson, will give the listeners a preview of the exhibition ‘Klimt & Rodin: An Artistic Encounter’, which runs through January 28, 2018 at the Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco and marks the centenary of Rodin’s death in 1917 and of Gustav Klimt in 1918.

Open Air with host David Latulippe; heard live on Thursday, October 26 at 1pm. Listen now or anytime…
