This week on Open Air, host David Latulippe talks with Erika Hassan, dancer and assistant artistic director for SOULSKIN Dance, about ‘Satin & Swing’, a brand new work that is part of the company’s 4th Season, this weekend at Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco.
Also, a conversation with Elaine Magree, about her solo show, ‘Holding The Edge’, currently at The Marsh San Francisco through April 8, in which we find Magree in 1986, as a hospice nurse and Cub Scout mom, in the center of the AIDS epidemic, on the day of the Challenger explosion.
We hear about the world premiere production of ‘Roe’ at Berkeley Rep, Lisa Loomer’s new play about the 1973 landmark case that legalized abortion, via the divergent personal journeys of lawyer Sarah Weddington (Sarah Jane Agnew) and plaintiff Norma McCorvey (‘Jane Roe’, played by Sara Bruner) in the years following the trial.
And finally, the second part of David’s interview with composer John Adams, in celebration of his 70th birthday and recent performances of his work by the San Francisco Symphony.
Open Air with host David Latulippe; heard live on Thursday March 9, at 1pm. Listen now or anytime…
