What does East Oakland look and sound like through the eyes and ears of its artists? Join KALW Public Radio on Sunday, April 17th at 3pm for Sights and Sounds of East Oakland, a free event at the Odell Johnson Performing Arts Center celebrating the neighborhood by the artists who live, work, and create there.
The afternoon will feature live storytelling by Oakland Voices' citizen journalists, plus musical and dance performances by Young Gifted and Black, Turf Feinz, Brittani Sensabaugh, Calpulli Coatlicue, and a special performance from La Misa Negra.
