Sights & Sounds of Richmond: The only way to fail is to stop

Jul 31, 2017

Richmond resident Lochlein Sekona studied for six years to become a deacon, all the while raising four kids with his wife, and working full time as a union leader for City of Richmond Public Works employees. Sekona now serves as a Deacon at St. John the Baptist in El Cerrito. His motivation to work hard and become ordained sprang from his deep commitment to social justice.

SEKONA: Part of the calling of the deacon is to understand the suffering of the people.

This story was created for our live show, the Sights and Sounds of Richmond as part of our partnership with the RYSE Center in Richmond, California.
