The eyes of the environmental world are on San Francisco, this week, where global leaders are gathering to talk about climate change. It’s a few years after the Paris Climate Agreement, and a year since President Donald Trump said the U.S. would pull out of the accord.
Thousands of people gathered at the foot of Market Street in San Francisco for the Rise for Climate march to United Nations Plaza. It’s an action timed to coincide with the Global Climate Action Summit.
"To think that cap and trade is being put forward as one of the real solutions to climate change is so offensive."
The march was part of a week called It Takes Roots: Solidarity to Solutions. KALW’s Ben Trefny put together this snapshot; a collection of sounds and scenes from the march.
