The fictional radio stories showcased on The Truth are inventive, and sound rich, and veer into themes about what our near futures could look like based on current, non-fictional trends in science and technology. Their tagline is true: They make movies for your ears. In this episode of The Truth, they imagine a future world where work is rare, and the party never ends.
“The Last Job” featured performances by: Peter McNerney, Louis Kornfeld, Rebecca Robles, India Kotis, Dave Hill, Alex Marino, Phoebe Tyers, Rupert Degas, and T.J. Mannix. The story was inspired by an essay written by John Maynard Keynes in 1930 titled, “Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren.”This story was produced with help from David Kestenbaum and the rest of the team at NPR's Planet Money.
