When people choose to migrate to the United States they have a certain fantasy of what America is like. For many people that image is fabulous. Endless high-paying jobs, everything is sparkling clean, there’s no poverty — then they arrive, and that image changes pretty fast. In this episode we ask African immigrants what they wish they knew about the U.S. before they came here.
"A lot of us thought that it was going to be huge cities, everything is developed. No rural areas, no unpaved road, no poverty. Really it was that heaven."
