Yassir Chadly is a native of Casablanca who has lived in the US since 1977. He’s performed with blues, jazz and Latin performers, as well as practicing traditional Moroccan music. He plays many traditional Moroccan instruments including the oud, gimbri, karkabas, darbuka, fretless banjo, tarija and bendeer, and is one of the first Moroccan artists to introduce his native music to an American audience. He’s scheduled to play a free outdoor concert with Bouchaib Abdelhadiat the YerbaBuena Gardens in San Francisco on Thursday, October 1, 2015, starting at 12:30pm.
