Tree ~ Cable Car Nymphomaniac ~ Voices of Music - Shinji Eshima

This week on Open Air, host David Latulippe talks to director Jon Tracy about the regional premiere of the new play, ‘Tree’ by Julie Hebert at San Francisco Playhouse, which deals with the delicate balance of race and family; Executive Director Carey McCray and author Kirsten Guenther discuss the first show by the new FOGGTheatre Company, called ‘The Cable Car Nymphomaniac’, which is based on actual events from 1970, when a young woman succesfully sued the city of San Francisco after a cable car accident caused her to become a nymphomaniac. Also, harpsichordist and recorder player Hanneke van Proosdij, who is co-founder and co-director of the ensemble Voices of Music, talks about the upcoming concert program of 17th century Consort Music for recorder, strings and continuo name ‘The Great Poets - From Shakespeare toDryden’; plus double-bassist and composer Shinji Eshima informs the listeners about some upcoming projects, which include several world premieres of his compositions.
