The RYSE Youth Center is hosting its third annual film festival called Truth Be Told: Justice Through My Eyes, a showcase of films by up-and-coming young filmmakers.

Stephanie Medley is education and justice director at RYSE. Gemikia Henderson is a filmmaker and RYSE’s video production coordinator, who started there when she was 18. They both joined Hana Baba in the KALW studios.

"It's a feeling of empowerment to be like I can create something like that for my community, I can inspire people in my community. Which I didn't think I had before." —Gamikia Henderson

The Truth Be Told festival is Saturday, October 28, at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are free.
