Your Call: How have animals shaped human history?

On the May 28th edition of Your Call, we’ll speak with anthropologist Brian Fagan about his new book The Intimate Bond: How Animals Shaped Human History, which focuses on our ever-changing relationship with animals. Fagan argues that humans and animals have always had an intimate bond, but as society industrialized, animals became commodities. There’s been a massive shift from respecting animals to exploiting them. Fagan asks, if this is wise and is it ethical? It’s Your Call with Rose Aguilar, and you.

Guests:

Brian Fagan, emeritus professor of anthropology at UC Santa Barbara
