Your Call: What does it mean to be an elder today?

On the September 8th, 2014 edition of Your Call, we’ll have a conversation with filmmakers from the Legacy Film Festival on Aging, which kicks off on September 12 in San Francisco. Roughly 10,000 people in the US turn 65 every day. What are the prevailing perceptions about the elderly and how can we reclaim the positive power of that title – for young and old alike? Join the conversation on the next Your Call, with Rose Aguilar and you.

Guests:

Jared Sheib, director of The Mayor, a documentary about an 88-year-old man in a Texas retirement home who struggles physically to maintain his prominence as The Mayor

Sheila Malkind, director of the Legacy Film Series

Edith Kaplan, license clinical social and the first Social worker on staff at the UCSF Alzheimer and Memory Center
