Your Call: What’s led to America’s opiate epidemic?

On the April 30th edition of Your Call, we’ll have a conversation about abuse of prescription painkillers that’s creating heroin addicts.  According to the CDC, deaths from heroin overdose tripled from 2010 to 2013. We’ll speak with acclaimed journalist Sam Quinones, author of “Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic.” He documents how unfettered marketing of painkillers like OxyContin  and the influx of a cheap form of heroin from Mexico hooked middle class America.  What can be done to stop the crisis? It’s Your Call with Matt Martin, and you.
