Tango with Peninsula Symphony

All of the passion and magic of Tango comes to the Peninsula Symphony stage, with Quartet San Francisco and colorful tango dancers Sandor & Parissa.  January 18 in Redwood City and January 19  in Cupertino.  KALW's David Latulippe will provide a pre-concert talk at 7pm at each venue.

A Season's Griot ~ 12/26 at 7pm, 12/27 at 1pm

Celebrating Kwanzaa!

Kwanzaa is celebrated in story and song, for "A Season's Griot" with host Madafo Lloyd Wilson. This year’s program features youth as the special guest griots, reading their own original and traditional stories.  Plus, an original composition by the show’s poet laureate, Beverly Fields Burnette.  Wednesday 12/26 at 7pm, Thursday 12/27 at 1pm. Holiday Show from Open Air

This week, host David Latulippe is joined by writer and longtime contributor to “Open Air,” Peter Robinson, for a special holiday-themed show that focuses on well- and lesser-known holiday music - including Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" sung by Roches (sisters Maggie, Suzy, & Terry) and lesbians (Venus Envy, with some...interesting...word changes).  Plus, Peter's observations on Charles Dickens, the San Francisco Girls' Chorus singing "Silent Night" and some advice for traveling near and far.  Originally broadcast on Thursday, 12/20/12 at 1pm.
