One of the most creative and versatile programmers in radio, Dore is an advocate for cross-pollinating music. Tangents has aired on KALW since 1995. Tangents explores the bridges connecting various styles of music, including world and roots music, and creative jazz hybrids. Features include the 10p Mystery Contest and a social justice segment at 11p called Gaza Corner.
In 2019, Stein assisted Rebuilding Alliance in bringing U.S. Congressional staff to the West Bank and East Jerusalem to witness Palestinian life under military occupation. Dore has also written news analysis regarding Turkey and Kurdistan for the on-line news source for independent commentary, Truthout.
Dore believes the best way to discover culture is through music at its source. He takes Tangents listeners on an annual Tangents Greece Music tour where Stein produces 10+ concerts in 17 nights.
