Today's Local Music: The Fresh & Onlys

The Fresh and Onlys are hailed as an integral band in San Francisco's new garage rock movement. This popular group is definitely not playing in garages these days--their new album Long, Slow, Dance just dropped on Sept. 4th, and has already been widely praised. You can catch them at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz on Monday, Sept. 10. Doors open at 8:30 and the show starts at 9 pm.

The sounds you’re hearing now are from San Francisco’s Nice Guy Trio. They use elements of many styles, including calypso and klezmer, to create their own unique form of jazz.

You can hear them for free at a midday show on Thursday (09.06) as part of San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Garden Festival. These outdoor events start at 12:30pm.
