Bruce Cockburn In Conversation

Bruce Cockburn

The great Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn was our special guest on "Folk Music & Beyond" this past Saturday.  Bruce talked about his new autobiography "Rumours of Glory" and his early days as a struggling musician.  This candid conversation covered his personal growth as a compelling singer-songwriter and his evolution as a humanist Christian and political activist.  If you missed all or any part of this program, you can listen back to it in its entirety via KALW's Local Music Player.  The program is archived for one week following the broadcast.

Finest Kind Trio Live this Saturday

Finest Kind

Finest Kind, the a cappella trio from Ottawa, Canada will be our in-studio guests this Saturday 3 pm on "Folk Music & Beyond."  They are among Canada's leading singers in the "Anglo-Celtic" tradition.  Their harmony vocals have been called "soaring and glorious" by fellow Canadian musician David Francey. They've been together since 1991 and their repertoire spans British Isles, Celtic, American roots, Canadian, Hank Williams, Carter Family, Rudyard Kipling, old time, bluegrass, and everything in between.
