This week on Open Air, host David Latulippe talks with Joe Estlack and Marilee Talkington about the world premiere of ‘Little Erik’ at the Aurora Theatre Company. 

Freely adapted from Ibsen’s Little Eyolf, this new play, developed at Aurora, grapples with the unsolvable mysterious forces that bind marriage, family, nature, and technology to our deepest hopes and dreams. Also, a conversation with conductor Edwin Outwater, who leads an eclectic program with an ‘exotic’ theme at the San Francisco Symphony, including works by Weber, Busoni, and Hindemith, and Saint-Saëns and featuring pianist Stephen Hough. And we hear from the lead actors from Hillbarn Theatre’s upcoming production of ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’, opening on January 22.

"A Hungarian Excursion"- Guest Conductor Edwin Outwater, with soprano soloist Jessica Rivera and the San Francisco Girls Chorus present the World Premiere of Gabriela Lena Frank's "Holy Sisters." Also on the program: Kodály's "Dances of Galánta" and Bartók's "Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta."  David Latulippe is guest host.   Sunday from 4-6pm.  (Bullseye and Selected Shorts return next week.)
