Join us on "Folk Music & Beyond" this Saturday at 3 pm for our preview of the Scottish Gathering & Games, celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.  We'll have live music performed by "The Trio of One" Michael Mullen, one of the many headliners at the games.  Former Caledonian Club chieftain David Scott will also be on hand to talk about the history of the games, the athletic events, and the musical highlights. 

British Folk Fiddler Eliza Carthy this Saturday!

Eliza Carthy is our special guest on "Folk Music & Beyond" this Saturday at 3 pm.  The talented fiddler-singer  is the daughter of two legendary folk icons Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson.  Eliza is part of the next generation of young British musicians actively promoting and performing English folk and traditional music.

"Folk Music & Beyond" welcomes members of the Shasta String Celebration, an all-star line-up of string wizards who will be coming to the Bay Area this weekend. National fiddle champs Tristan and Tashina Claridge will be leading the pack and they'll be our guests, along with a few of their other fiddling friends. Should be an interesting and eclectic program this Saturday 7/20 3 pm. Hope you can join us!

The Real Vocal String Quartet returns to Folk Music & Beyond for another live appearance.  Their music covers a lot of territory - classical, jazz, rock, Appalachian folk, West African and Brazilian.  They'll perform songs and instrumentals from their new CD "Four Little Sisters."   Saturday at 3pm.

The great Irish fiddler Martin Hayes and guitarist Dennis Cahill return to Folk Music & Beyond for a live performance this Saturday February 25th at 3 pm.  Hayes ranks among the most innovative and distinguished fiddlers playing traditional music today.
