This week on Open Air, guest host Kevin Vance sits in for David Latulippe and has a conversation with Executive Artistic Director Dan Demers about the upcoming season at Hillbarn Theatre, which opens with the musical ‘Legally Blonde’.  Also, Black Choreographers Festival (BCF) co-director Kendra Barnes stops by, together with choreographer Chris Evans, to share details about the BCF Summer Series, this weekend at Laney College in Oakland. We have Nick Olivero, creator and artistic director of ‘The Speakeasy’, in the studio to discuss the return of 2014’s immersive theatrical hit at a new and bigger location, and he brings along actor/singer Megan Wicks who sings live on the air. Plus, regular contributor and critic at large Peter Robinson reviews Cal Shakes, Richard III at the Kabuki, and the new movie ‘Equity’.

 On this week's Open Air, you'll hear about the Hillbarn Theatre's production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" from actors David Blackburn and Tracy Chiappone; and about the new seasons of the San Francisco Wind Ensemble and the Aurora Theatre, which opens its season with the Bay Area Premiere of Marisa Wegrzyn's Mud Blue Sky - we'll hear from the three female leads who star as flight attendants in the production, Rebecca Dines, Jamie Jones, and Laura Jane Bailey. Also, a live studio performance from Brenden Guy and the On Found Sound String Quartet, prior to their Saturday appearance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
