Throughout the month of May, KALW will broadcast the full 2013-14 season of the Berkeley Symphony, hosted by David Latulippe. This week, Music Director Joana Carneiro leads the orchestra in Australian composer Brett Dean’s “Carlo,” Haydn’s Cello Concerto #1 with guest soloist Peter Wyrick, Associate Principal Cellist of the SFSymphony, and the Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73 of Johannes Brahms.  Monday at 9pm.

Berkeley Symphony ~ LIVE ~ & on KALW...

KALW is a media sponsor for the Berkeley Symphony, which presents its final concert of the 2013-14 season on Thursday, May 1st at 8pm in Zellerbach Hall on the UC Berkeley campus.  Music Director Joana Carneiro will lead the orchestra for Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, the Bay Area Premiere of Esa-Pekka Salonen's "Nyx,"  and Kaija Saariaho's "Adriana Songs," with soprano soloist Laura Krumm.  More information at berkeleysymphony.org.  KALW will broadcast the orchestra's entire 2013-14 season of concerts beginning Monday May 5 at 9pm, continuing through

KALW is pleased to continue its exclusive broadcast partnership with the Berkeley Symphony by presenting its concert from March 28, 2013.  For that final concert of their 2012-13 season, music director Joana Carneiro led the orchestra in the world premiere of Steven Stucky's "The Stars and the Roses" with tenor Noah Stewart singing orchestral settings of the poetry of Czeslaw Milosz, and Anton Bruckner's epic Symphony No.4 "Romantic".  KALW's David Latulippe hosts the broadcast.  Monday, September 16 at 9pm.
