"Not all ships have risen with the tide, especially in the Bay Area. The poverty rate in the region still hovers near its all-time high, with more than 800,000 people living below the poverty line.

KALW is pleased to continue its exclusive broadcast partnership with the Berkeley Symphony by presenting its concert from March 28, 2013.  For that final concert of their 2012-13 season, music director Joana Carneiro led the orchestra in the world premiere of Steven Stucky's "The Stars and the Roses" with tenor Noah Stewart singing orchestral settings of the poetry of Czeslaw Milosz, and Anton Bruckner's epic Symphony No.4 "Romantic".  KALW's David Latulippe hosts the broadcast.  Monday, September 16 at 9pm.
