Today’s local music is by the Berkeley Choro Ensemble. Choro is a type of Brazilian music dating from the 1800s.  

The Berkeley Choro Ensemble will be performing on Sunday January 24 at the Old St. Hilary's Church in Tiburon. Music starts at 4 in the afternoon.  $20 tickets will be available at the door.

Roy Rogers live on Fog City Blues

Roy Rogers is one of the premier slide guitarists performing today. He is also an internationally acclaimed producer, having produced recordings for John Lee Hooker (4 Grammy Nominations and 2 Grammy Awards) and Ramblin' Jack Elliott (2 Grammy Nominations). The release party for his newest album, Into the Wild Blue, will take place August 7 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Roy joins host Devon Strolovitch live in the studio this Wednesday 7/22 at 9 pm.

Who’s this you’re hearing? It’s Rin Tin Tiger, singing the title song from their album, “Splinter Remedies.”  This San Francisco band is known for “lots of lyrics and lots of groove."

Rin Tin Tiger will be at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco, tomorrow night, April 14th. They’ll be opening for Kaleo which is NOT a local band – they’re from Iceland.   The music starts at 8pm.  

The Stone Foxes live on Fog City Blues this Wednesday

The Stone Foxes are a San Francisco rock 'n roll band with a raw, blues-filtered sound. They are releasing a new song from their fourth album, Twelve Spells, on the first Friday of every month for a year. The band will perform live in the studio this Wednesday 10/29 at 9 pm, ahead of a residency next month at The Chapel in the Mission District.
