WWOZ General Manager David Freedman from New Orleans stops by the KALW studios this Saturday at 3 pm on "Folk Music & Beyond."  David will share some of the live performances captured by WWOZ--Aaron Neville, Terrance Simien, the Lee Boys, and Blind Boy Paxton are among the many artists featured on its legendary compilations.

Harry Shearer, host of Le Show (Sundays at Noon), has a new album, “Can’t Take a Hint”.   It features 13 songs spanning a broad spectrum of topics, most of them handled with Shearer's caustic sense of humor.  Yours for a $70 donation to KALW.

Last week BreakOut!, a New Orleans based LGBTQ organization that focuses specifically on youth impacted by the juvenile justice system, began the first of their anti-discrimination training seminars for the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD). The training comes as a result of an investigation and subsequent consent decree by the United States Department of Justice mandating sweeping reforms and trainings throughout NOPD.
