Ocean Film Festival

On this edition of Your Call’s One Planet Series, we’ll mark International Women’s Day by speaking with women filmmakers who are showcasing their work at this year’s International Ocean Film Festival in San Francisco.

Denis Delestrac joins us to discuss his new documentary Freightened: The Real Cost of Shipping.

Local filmmaker honored at Ocean Film Festival

Mar 5, 2014

Each year, the Ocean Film Festival honors a local filmmaker with the Golden Gate award. Filmmaker Adam Warmington won the award this year for his film, "The Sunnydale Kids." In the film, Warmington takes a group of kids from an at risk neighborhood in San Francisco surfing for the day.

On today’s Your Call, we’ll have a conversation about the 9th annual San Francisco Ocean Film Festival, which kicks off on Thursday, March 8th. The festival celebrates the sea with inspirational films intended to increase our appreciation of the oceans. This year, the festival is showing several international films. Join us live at 10 or send an email to feedback@yourcallradio.org. How can awareness here and abroad save our oceans and underwater life? It’s Your Call, with Rose Aguilar and you.
