Quinn DeVeaux & The Blue Beat Review

Oct 15, 2014

Today's local musician is Quinn DeVeaux & The Blue Beat Review. He calls his sound “blue beat,” but SF Weekly says that, when he sings, it “might as well just be called joy.”  Quinn DeVeaux & The Blue Beat Review will be opening for Megan Slankard on Saturday, the 18th of October at The Great American Music Hall. Music starts at 9:00 pm.

Oakland-based singer/songwriter Quinn Deveaux is one part city, one part country. When he plays with his band, the Blue Beat Review, he taps into Ray Charles and plays the savvy bandleader, burning his way through tune after tune and keeping his audience dancing late into the night.

Listen anytime via KALW's Local Music Player.  Host Devon Strolovitch celebrates five years on KALW with a special night on Fog City Blues featuring cameo appearances by Elvin Bishop, Quinn Deveaux, Carmen Getit of Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums, and Mark Hummel.  Devon will also be giving away tickets to Mark's Blues Harmonica Blowout at Yoshi's Oakland.  Wednesday night at 9pm.
