This week on Open Air, guest host Kevin Vance talks with actor and writer Dan Hoyle about his one-man show ‘The Real Americans’, an account of a three month-trip across the U.S. in search of the true meaning of America and what it means to be American, currently at The Marsh SF in an updated version. Also, a conversation with journalist/playwright Sarah Shourd, who survived 410 days of solitary confinement as a political hostage in Iran in 2009/10 and created ‘The Box’, a piece of transformational theater about that experience, currently at Z Space in San Francisco. We will hear from Artistic Director Amy Mueller about the Bay Area Playwrights Festival 2016; she brings along Walt McGough, one of the participating playwrights. Plus, regular contributor and critic at large Peter Robinson shines his reviewing light on cultural events around the Bay Area.

Open Air with guest host Kevin Vance; hear it live on Thursday, July 14 at 1pm.
