This week on Open Air, host David Latulippe welcomes Annie Philips, co-director of the Switchboard Music Festival, to discuss this weekend’s festival at the Brava Theater in San Francisco, and she brought the members of the Real Vocal String Quartet who will also play live in the studio; also, Greg MacKellan, Artistic Director of 42nd Street Moon stops by to talk about a new production that he directs of the musical Nick & Nora, its first since the 1991 Broadway premiere; husband and wife team Conrad Bishop and Elizabeth Fuller from The Independent Eye visit to discuss their adaptation of Shakespeare’s King Lear for which they built and operate (as rest of the cast) almost 30 self-built puppets, ranging in size from finger puppets to life-size specimen; plus, regular contributor and Classical Music Writer Janos Gereben looks ahead at interesting musical events in the month of April.
