Genticorum on FM&B

The French-Canadian band Genticorum from Quebec performed live this Saturday (4/14)  on Folk Music & Beyond.  This talented trio is at the forefront of  Quebecois music and is among the many young bands leading the revival of interest in the old folk traditions of Quebec.  Members of Genticorum are Pascal Gemme on fiddle and foot percussion, Yann Falquet on guitar, and Alexandre de Grosbois-Garand on flute and bass.

Agapi Mou on Folk Music & Beyond

Folk Music & Beyond welcomes members of Agapi Mou (“my love” in Greek), a new Bay Area band performing the songs and tunes of Greece, Albania, Turkey, and Armenia.   Agapi Mou includes violinist and singer Aya Davidson, clarinetist Greg Jenkins, Alan Davidson on laouto and Michael Garibaldi on percussion.  Listen anytime this week via KALW's Local Music Player.

Musica Pacifica Live on Folk Music & Beyond

Now on KALW's Local Music Player: Bay Area Baroque ensemble Musica Pacifica's live performance on Folk Music & Beyond. 

Members played selections from their latest recording "Dancing In The Isles: Baroque and Traditional Music from England, Scotland, and Ireland."  Judith Linsenberg on recorder, Elizabeth Blumenstock on baroque violin, Shirley Hunt on baroque cello, Charles Sherman on harpsichord, and John Loose on percussion.
