Today’s local music is performed by Patrick Galvin. A San Francisco native, he performs classical violin recitals, both solo, and in chamber settings. And he’s in a folk band- but not this week.

Oakland art-rock band Everyone Is Dirty performs as part of the Phono Del Sol Music & Food Festival in San Francisco on Saturday July 11th at San Francisco’s Potrero del Sol Park. Everyone is Dirty features Christopher Daddio on guitar, Tony Sales on drums, Tyler English on bass, and singer and violinist Sivan Lioncub on electric violin.

Roland Feller is responsible for the well-being of many of the city's stringed instruments. When you imagine him working on a violin, picture him seated at a tiny old fashioned desk littered with tools and wood shavings, in a room piled with sheet music, billing forms...and violins. Violins hanging on the walls and from the ceiling; violins leaning against the table legs on the floor.

The Real Vocal String Quartet returns to Folk Music & Beyond for another live appearance.  Their music covers a lot of territory - classical, jazz, rock, Appalachian folk, West African and Brazilian.  They'll perform songs and instrumentals from their new CD "Four Little Sisters."   Saturday at 3pm.
