Yerba Buena Gardens

This band is called The View from Bernal Hill, so you can guess that they’re from San Francisco Bernal Heights neighborhood.

This music is by the Electric Squeezebox Orchestra, a 17 – piece combo that plays their own compositions and arrangements.

You’ll be able to hear the Electric Squeezebox Orchestra on Saturday (05.09) as part of this year’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. That takes place – where else? -- at Yerba Buena Gardens, starting at 1:30 in the afternoon. It’s a free show, like all of the performances in this summer series.

Today's local music is Black Mahal, featuring the Godfather of Punjabi-American music, Ustad Lai Singh Bhatti. Black Mahal isn’t a band, it’s an experience! They say they represent the new California feel – hippy hybrid hip-hop. You can experience this musical-theatrical mash-up on Thursday, May 30th, as part of this year’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival of free music. They’ll perform from 12:30 to 1:30 in the afternoon.

Today we are featuring the sounds of the Shotgun Wedding Quintet. They may be a jazz brass band, but they also have a hip-hop flavor. This week you can hear them outside, and you can hear them inside.

On Thursday, July 26, they’re at Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco, for the Noon Time Concert.
