KALW Seeks Two Part-Time Announcers

91.7 KALW-FM, San Francisco seeks candidates for two part-time announcer-operator positions:

  • A multidimensional radio talent to host and curate weekday afternoons, including the presentation of All Things Considered.  The ideal candidate will have experience in live radio operations, a friendly on-air presence, solid audio production skills, copyediting skills for radio and the web, and a proven track record of creative collaboration.  Newsroom experience and/or social media savvy a plus.  30 hour/week position, with full benefits after 1040 hours in the position.
  • A half-time announcer to host weekend and weekday evening broadcasts.   The ideal candidate will have experience in live radio operations, a friendly on-air presence, copyediting skills for radio and the web, and solid audio production skills.  Social media savvy a plus.  20 hour/week position, with full benefits after 1040 hours in the position.

KALW is the oldest non-commercial FM station west of the Mississippi, and the first public broadcaster to introduce NPR, BBC and CBC programming to the San Francisco Bay Area, the nation’s 6th largest media market.

He helped create the station’s Audio Academy, a year-long program aimed at developing new talents in public radio, and led the first broad-based strategic planning process in the station’s history.
