The Audio Academy is a nine-month radio journalism training program based at KALW, an NPR and BBC affiliate station in San Francisco.
The program offers a tuition-free, professional audio production education within a working public radio news department. Curriculum includes field recording, story structure, writing for radio, investigative techniques, multi-track editing, voicing, sound design and more. Audio Academy fellows also produce stories for KALW's award-winning local news program, Crosscurrents.
Applications are accepted each spring.
